The "Why"

My name is Rebecca Demi — Founder of Movement Meets Therapy.

I came to this work the same way many of you did: overextended, disconnected, and living entirely from the neck up. As a trained dancer and psychology student, I already knew the body never lies — but it took time with my own unraveling to truly listen.

Dance/movement therapy became the language that unlocked what talk alone couldn't hold a candle to! Buried emotions surfaced.

Intuition returned.

Joy followed.

That's why I built this private practice and new library, not as another resource to consume with your mind, but a place to arrive in your body.

On your terms. In your rhythm.

Vision & Mission

At Movement Meets Therapy, my mission is to offer an emotionally liberating and non-pathological dance/movement therapy experience designed to stretch the window of tolerance, integrate somatic healing, and restore intuitive flow.

My vision is a world where movement becomes medicine—a regular part of self-care, not a last resort. Every offering is designed to meet you where you are, supporting your journey with compassion, creativity, and clinical care.

Core Values

1. Movement as Medicine: Movement is used as a therapeutic tool to process emotions, regulate the nervous system, and support holistic healing.

2. Longevity through Embodiment: Sustainable wellness is cultivated through consistent, embodied practices that honor the body’s intelligence across all life stages.

3. Rhythmic, Intuitive Living: Clients are guided to live in alignment with their natural rhythms and inner knowing, fostering harmony between body, mind, and emotion.

4. Internal Locus of Control:The practice empowers individuals to access their inner resources and respond to life from a place of grounded self-agency.

5. Quantum Awareness & Emotional Intention: Clients are supported in cultivating subtle awareness and using intention to create meaningful shifts in their emotional and energetic states.

My Expertise & Approach

With a Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Clinical Licensure in Creative Arts Psychotherapy, I bring over years of experience in somatic healing, trauma-informed care, and expressive arts practices. My work blends:

  • Dance/Flow State Practices

  • Bilateral Movement Therapy for Emotional Integration

  • Nervous System Regulation Techniques

  • Psychoeducation to Empower Self-Awareness

Whether you’re joining a daily practice, an immersive course, or a live workshop, my approach is always client-centered, trauma-sensitive, and embodied.

Why Work with Me?

As a seasoned practitioner, I offer something unique: personalized, 1:1 attention from start to finish. When you work with me, you’re not just another client — I learn your rhythms, honor your history, and tailor each session to support your evolving needs. There’s no template, no rushing — just thoughtful, heart-centered care.

This is healing that moves with you, not at you.
