Meet the Founder

My name is Rebecca Demi, and I’m the Founder of Movement Meets Therapy. As a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Creative Arts Psychotherapist, I help working and moving individuals reconnect with themselves through intentional, embodied practices that promote emotional clarity, resilience, and nervous system regulation.

I started Movement Meets You LLC after witnessing how often we live in our heads when we're trying to succeed, disconnected from the body that carries us through every moment. Like many of my clients, I once wore the badge of “busy professional” with pride — until I felt the burnout it was taking on my body, mind, and spirit.

My journey into dance/movement therapy began with a simple truth as a trained dancer and psychology student: the body never lies. Movement therapy became the language I used to uncover buried emotions, reclaim my intuition, and find joy again. Through my own healing, I felt called to create a space where others could do the same— on their terms, in their rhythm.

Vision & Mission

At Movement Meets Therapy, my mission is to offer an emotionally liberating and non-pathological dance/movement therapy experience designed to stretch the window of tolerance, integrate somatic healing, and restore intuitive flow.

My vision is a world where movement becomes medicine—a regular part of self-care, not a last resort. Every offering is designed to meet you where you are, supporting your journey with compassion, creativity, and clinical care.

Core Values

1. Movement as Medicine: Movement is used as a therapeutic tool to process emotions, regulate the nervous system, and support holistic healing.

2. Longevity through Embodiment: Sustainable wellness is cultivated through consistent, embodied practices that honor the body’s intelligence across all life stages.

3. Rhythmic, Intuitive Living: Clients are guided to live in alignment with their natural rhythms and inner knowing, fostering harmony between body, mind, and emotion.

4. Internal Locus of Control:The practice empowers individuals to access their inner resources and respond to life from a place of grounded self-agency.

5. Quantum Awareness & Emotional Intention: Clients are supported in cultivating subtle awareness and using intention to create meaningful shifts in their emotional and energetic states.

My Expertise & Approach

With a Master’s degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Clinical Licensure in Creative Arts Psychotherapy, I bring over years of experience in somatic healing, trauma-informed care, and expressive arts practices. My work blends:

  • Nervous System Regulation Techniques

  • Psychoeducation to Empower Self-Awareness

Whether you’re joining a daily practice, an immersive course, or a live workshop, my approach is always client-centered, trauma-sensitive, and embodied.
